Translatr ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Translatr mobile application.

• Account information — If you choose to register, we collect your email address and display name. Registration is not required to use the app.
• Device identifier — For guest users, we generate an anonymous device ID to manage usage limits.
• Usage data — We collect translation counts, language pairs used, and timestamps to operate the service and enforce daily limits.
• Audio recordings — When you use voice translation, your audio is processed in real-time to generate translations. Audio is not stored on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the translation service
• To track daily usage limits and manage your subscription tier
• To improve translation quality and the overall app experience
• To manage subscriptions and process payments via Apple In-App Purchase

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• OpenAI — Processes audio and text to perform translations. Your data sent to OpenAI is subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
• Apple — Manages subscriptions and payments via In-App Purchase, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to any third party for advertising purposes.

4. Data Retention

• Translation text logs are retained for up to 90 days for service improvement, then permanently deleted.
• Account data is retained until you delete your account.
• Audio recordings are never stored. They are processed in real-time and immediately discarded.

5. Data Security

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS with TLS encryption.
• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text.
• Authentication is managed via secure JWT tokens.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.
• Request an export of your data.
